Hi there...John Carter on this end! Thank you so much for taking a moment to check out this web page!  I want to invite you to be a part of my Boob Tube Team for the Komen Race For the Cure this Saturday, October 5!! Wednesday, October 2...is the LAST day you can sign up...so please take action right away!!

And yes...it's going to cost you...$35.  But what you get from signing up for my team is priceless!!  Not only will you get a Komen race t-shirt...you'll also get a WBTV Boob Tube team t-shirt!!  Plus...you are going to have more fun than you can shake a stick at!!

JOIN ME: Join WBTV Boob Tube - Team John by clicking here.

The Komen Race for the Cure is so important to me...seriously.  I do only ONE event all year long that I ask folks to give money...and this is it!  I totally believe in what is being done in the fight against breast cancer...and I want to be a part of it...and I would love if you would join me as well.

Please join my team!  When you do...you are making a difference in the lives of others!  And how about this...I would love to see you out at the Race on Saturday, October 5...BUT...I know your schedule is busy!  So even if you can't come out, you can still join my team. It is not required that you show up for the Race.  And keep this in mind as well...you do not have to run in the Race!  You can walk if you'd like...OR...you can just hang out with us at our WBTV set up at Marshall Park and you'll still have a GREAT time!  We had such a wonderful time last year...this year promises to be even better!!

A lot of folks from WBTV, including Molly Grantham, will be on hand this Saturday...and I promise you will enjoy yourself!

I'll be sending out an email to all team members later this week to give you specifics about race day!  Just a couple of specifics:  You can pick up your t-shirts at WBTV this Wednesday and Thursday.  On Saturday, we'll start getting together at our camp site at Marshall Park around 7 AM...the competitive race starts at 7:15...I'm doing the second race that gets underway a little later (it's NON-competitive).  But remember, you can walk if you'd like...or just hang out until the race is over!

Once you sign up...you can also donate to the cause as well (this is in addition to your registration fee).  But...this is not about trying to get you to donate (although that's a great thing).  This is about showing our support for breast cancer survivors and others!  I have done the Komen event for several years now, and each year it is such an emotionally satisfying occasion.  I think you will get the same feeling I do when you see the great crowd of cancer survivors, family members, caretakers and more.

PLEASE JOIN MY TEAM...we can beat cancer with your help!!

You may donate online with your credit card by clicking the "Donate" button at the top of this page. Your support helps us get another step closer to a world without breast cancer.

Your breast health?
The greatest risk factors for breast cancer are being female and growing older. Breast cancer knows no boundary, be it age, gender, socio-economic status or geographic location. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That's one in eight within your company, school and organization!  If you're like me, you either have a family member or a friend...or perhaps even yourself...who has had to deal with breast cancer!  My wonderful cousin Deb, who is like a sister to me, is a breast cancer survivor...and she is my inspiration!  She had to endure quite a bit during her battle with cancer...the Komen Race is the least I can do to tell her how much I love her and support her!

The key to survival is early detection. Three simple steps for early detection are regular mammograms, clinical exams and breast self-exams. And, remember, breast cancer affects more than just the patient; friends and family need support too.

What does Komen do?

For more than 25 years, Komen for the Cure has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer ? transforming how the world talks about and treats this disease, and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.

Over the next 25 years, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer if we don't find a cure.  Komen will not stop until we discover and deliver the cures. That's our promise.

We Will Find the Cure!
