CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte say they have arrested three people involved with narcotics and several stolen firearms, one of which belonged to the FBI.

Mehsal Alsweel, 19, Abdulaziz Algfari, 18, and Isaiah Nixon, 23, were arrested on Tuesday at an apartment on the 8400 block of Riverbirch Drive, according to a news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police responded to the apartment after receiving a call about the strong smell of marijuana coming from the apartment. Police obtained a search warrant and found cash, a small amount of marijuana and cocaine and five firearms, three of which were stolen.

One of the assault rifles was reported stolen by the FBI several weeks ago.

Alsweel and Algfari were arrested for possession of stolen property and narcotics charges.

Nixon was arrested for drug charges.

All three were transported to police headquarters where they were interviewed by detectives.
