Report: Man drove car into home during domestic dispute

A man has been arrested after using his car to damage a home during a domestic dispute, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.

On Thursday, August 22, a call was received by the Iredell County Emergency Communications Center in reference to a vehicle having been driven into a home.

The Highway Patrol was dispatched to the accident scene on Waderich Lane in Mooresville and soon determined it was not an accident, but an act of domestic violence, the report states.

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office was then notified to respond to the area.

Deputies arrived and spoke with the victim and gathered statements before assigning the case to a Detective with the Special Victims Unit.

The detective met with the victim and learned that the suspect, Jeffery Donald Weaver, 57, had been on her property twice in the early morning hours, and had been at her work the day before, attempting to speak with her.

The detective then spoke with the investigating Trooper, who said Weaver had backed his vehicle into a car in the victim's driveway, which caused the car to break through the garage door and strike the victim's vehicle, pushing it through the back wall of the garage.

This caused extensive damage to the vehicles and the home, the report states.

As a result of the investigation, Weaver was charged with one Felony count of Injury to a Building and two counts of Injury to Personnel Property.

He was placed under a $1,000 secured bond.

The victim obtained a Domestic Violence Protection Order which was served on Weaver as well.
