Federal Marshals arrest men wanted in east Charlotte shooting in Georgia

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Federal Marshals arrested two men on Wednesday morning wanted in an east Charlotte shooting over the weekend.

Police in Charlotte are investigating a shooting on the city's east side that left one person dead and another one injured on Sunday morning.

US Marshals arrested a man known as Colocho or Douglas Ubaldo Valle-Zuniga in Cobb County, Georgia Wednesday morning.

Another man was also arrested.

Neris Perfecto Silva, 47, is charged as an accessory to the murder.

Valle-Zuniga has been charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to police.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers were called to the 3800 block of Driftwood Drive around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning to the report of a shooting involving two victims.

Officers say one victim suffering from gunshot wounds was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.

He was later identified as 26-year-old Jose Jesus Hernandez-Diaz.

 A second victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries according to police. 

Officers have not released that person's name and say they are searching for any witnesses.
