The monsoon storm brought with it torrential downpours and gusty winds.
"Chairs started flying everywhere, and hail even started coming," Knous added.
But it's the rain that continues to cause a problem for residents like Knous.
"It compiles in our yard, starts seeping in doors."
Knous said a canal that runs right behind her just can handle all the water that comes rushing through during a storm such as Friday's.
"We start getting puddles and it floods. It starts raising up the house, coming through doors," Knous explained.
Friday was the third time it's happened.
"We've had to replace walls multiple times. We've lost carpet. We've lost hardwood flooring. This time we didn't even get a chance to finish everything," Knous said.
But the flooding frustration isn't just unique to Knous.
"It looks like a lake clear up to my back porch," said Benny Duke.
He lives just three doors down from Knous.
"There's something just not carrying the water off," Duke explained.
Knous said she and her husband have contacted the city of Apache Junction about the problem, but they said they have gotten nowhere.
"No. It's like we called one lady. She said that's not my department," Knous said. "They said we can't build a brick wall without breaking the law, and we don't know what to do anymore."
The rain wasn't the only problem in Apache Junction during Friday's storm. The wind blew down plenty of utility poles. But at last check with SRP Saturday afternoon, the utility poles don't seem to be an issue any longer.
