Rock Hill Schools names interim superintendent

Rock Hill School District officials have named an interim superintendent to run the school system.

On Friday, the school board unanimously approved John Taylor, a former associate superintendent with Rock Hill Schools, as the interim superintendent beginning in September.

Taylor will replace Dr. Lynn Moody who has resigned to accept the superintendency in Rowan-Salisbury Schools in N. C.

Taylor served in the district as Associate Supt. of Long Range Planning, Staff Development and Community Involvement from 1988-1995.

He also served as the Superintendent of Schools in Dillon, SC, before coming to Rock Hill and as the Superintendent of Lancaster County Schools after he left the district.

Taylor, who lives in Fort Mill, will serve at the pleasure of the board. His compensation will be $750 daily.
