ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

Police are investigating after burglars stole a television and released a container of pythons in a Rock Hill home, according to a report from the Rock Hill Police Department.

Wednesday, police were called to a home on Kallaramo Road around 10 p.m. in reference to a larceny complaint.

Once on scene, the 61-year-old homeowner told police that over the past six weeks, a fire restoration service had been doing repairs on the house after a fire that occurred on July 12, the report states.

The homeowner went on to tell police that during that time, her Panasonic television, worth $2,500 was taken. She also said that a container of several ball python snakes was released in the basement of the home, and one of the snakes was stolen.

Ball pythons are a rare breed of snake, valued at approximately $2,500 each, the report states.

Police have not made any arrests in the case, but say they are still investigating the incident.
