Charlotte Movie Studio Decision; Syria Developments

Charlotte is a step closer to becoming a major player in the movie-making industry.  Last night, city council voted to move forward in negotiations to build a new multi-million dollar film studio at the vacant Eastland mall in East Charlotte.

WBTV has learned investigators plan to conduct more interviews this morning in the Erica Parsons case...she's the missing girl from Rowan County.

The Obama administration is continuing to debate if our military should attack Syria.

Several developments in the escalating tension over Syria while you were sleeping.  CBS news reports the United States has postponed a meeting with Russia...about Syria...scheduled for tomorrow.  Secretary of State John Kerry says there is "undeniable" evidence of chemical weapons use by Syria.

It's a big day for students in Kannapolis...it's the first day of classes today!  

Meanwhile...there is a new superintendent of Rowan-Salisbury Schools.  Dr. Lynn Moody will be introduced at a news conference this afternoon.

We have a really interesting story from WBTV's Astrid Martinez.  Do you have any trouble getting your kids to go to sleep now that school is back in session?  Astrid has learned many frustrated parents are turning to a synthetic hormone for help.

And it's a big day for gamers today!  the 25 anniversary edition of the Madden NFL video game went on sale at midnight.  I got my copy at Walmart at 3:15 this morning...and the store clerk told me there were lines of people waiting for the game when it went on sale at midnight!
