Cherryville man arrested on cocaine charges in 6-month investigation

LINCOLNTON, NC (WBTV) -

A Cherryville man was arrested Friday on cocaine charges.

Rafael Juaves Martinez, 50, of Cherryville, is charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance on the premises of penal institution, according to a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators seized $1,300 in cash and just under a quarter ounce of cocaine on Friday at the end of a six month long investigation.   

Martinez was released on a $10,000 secured bond.

Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and more arrest are expected.
