Authorities are searching for the driver of a 1996 Honda Civic who fled the scene of a crash early Sunday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 2:40 a.m. at the intersection of County Road A and County Road 2 in Henry County.
Amy Bejarano, 39, of Hamler, was driving westbound on County Road A, when the driver of a Honda Civic failed to stop at a stop sign on County Road 2.
Bejarano's Mazda 626 was struck on the passenger side, knocking the vehicle off the road, causing it to overturn in a ditch.
Authorities say Bejarano was not wearing a seat belt. She was trapped in the vehicle for an extended period of time. Bejarano was transported by Promedica Air to Toledo Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Her passenger, 21-year-old Lupe Elacio of Deshler, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
The driver of the Honda Civic fled the scene on foot.
Alcohol use is suspected for both drivers, according to troopers. The crash remains under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information on the driver who fled the scene is asked to call the Bowling Green Patrol Post of the state highway patrol at 419-352-2481.
