Central Cabarrus ready for 2013 season

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) - It only took one year for Donnie Kiefer to improve the Central Cabarrus program going 8-4 last season.

Expectations are high again this season with the return of 7 starters on offense led by QB Hasaan Klugh. Klugh is a dual threat QB and was all conference last season throwing 22 TDs.

He will be joined in the backfield by fellow all conference performer RB Kenny Purvis who rushed for 16 hundred yards in 2012.

They'll be the main focus of opponents but this will be a solid team especially on defense where 8 starters are back including LBs Josh Stewart and Bo Schelling.

Depth will be an issue for this team but if they stay healthy they will be a major factor in the 3A state playoffs.

Key game will be October 11th when they host West Rowan. That game could decide the winner of the South Piedmont Conference.
