CMPD: Alcohol contributing factor in crash

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Alcohol is a contributing factor in a Saturday evening wreck according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Investigators say they charged Ramirez with DWI, serious injury by vehicle, and improper passing.

About 6:20 p.m., Victor Manuel Ramirez drove his 2011 Ford F-250 truck on the 6300th block of Old Concord Road traveling eastbound. 

Ramirez passed a vehicle on a double yellow line and struck a Nissan heading westbound head on.

Police say Ramirez was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries and the driver of Nissan was transported with serious injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash.
