A suspicious package reported on the campus of UNC-Charlotte Saturday morning turned out to be a pipe.
The university's Vice Chancellor says the school called police to investigate behind Scott Hall, a residential Hall near from the entrance of campus.
Police evacuated Scott Hall and two other nearby dorms. University officials say they notified all students through social media. People in the area were asked to move their cars until the all clear was given.
Police detonated the package. Chelsea Miracle said she was helping fellow students move their belongings into rooms.
"While we were walking across campus, the explosion whatever it was it was really loud and scared all of us. The trees were shaking while we were next to the woods," Miracle said.
No one was hurt.
Classes begin at UNC-Charlotte Monday.
