MEDIC: 30 people evaluated, 5 injured after HazMat situation

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Thirty people were evaluated, and five were taken to the hospital after a HazMat situation in southwest Charlotte, according to Medic officials.

The incident began Friday evening when people at a business on the 8300 block of Forest Point Boulevard began complaining of getting headaches and smelling an odor, officials said.

Medic told WBTV that they evaluated 30 people. Of those, five were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.

There is no word on what may have caused the situation.
