West Stanly football ready to put 2012 behind them

Oakboro, NC (WBTV) -

After an 0-10 season last year, West Stanly has made a change at coach to James Johnson.

Johnson comes to West after years of being an assistant at Richmond Senior.

He comes to a program with talent... most notably 2 way player B.J. Hill.

Hill has verbally committed to NC State and will anchor a strong defensive line. Charlie Eudy will also be a force on that line as well as a TE on the offense.

The O will be led at QB by Trey Barbie and RB Ryan McCormick.

Johnson knows a turn around will be tough at West but he has taken his team to 7 on 7s at Richmond Senior to see what a great program they have.

He is hoping that exposure will rub off and so far it has as the numbers of players coming out for football are on the rise and the expectations in the weight room have risen as well.
