City charges filmmakers over $200K for 'Captain America' filming

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The city of Cleveland billed "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" filmmakers over $200,000 for use of city streets and police and fire personnel.

The charge for the Division of Police was $163,431.64, the charge for the Division of Fire was $21,329.22 and Public Works was $26,669.02 – bringing the grand total to $211.429.88.

As of August 6, over 99% of the bill has been settled. A small amount is still owed for police and public works.

Filmmakers were in the city for weeks this spring and summer shooting scenes for the upcoming thriller. The movie is set for release in 2014.
