(RNN) – Comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has been announced as host of the Oscars for a second time.
"It's official: I'm hosting the #Oscars! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra," DeGeneres said on Twitter.
DeGeneres hosted the Academy Awards show in 2007 and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program for her work.
"Ellen is talented, wonderfully spontaneous and knows how to entertain a worldwide audience," said Dawn Hudson, Academy CEO, in a news release. "She's a big fan of the Oscars; we're huge fans of hers. It's a perfect match."
The Oscars will be March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in California and broadcast on ABC.
