Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu traveling south in the left lane on Eastway Drive struck the left rear of a 2002 Honda Odyssey Saturday night.
The Malibu crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic and struck a Ford Explorer that was traveling north on Eastway Drive.
CMPD says after the impact with the Explorer caused the Malibu to flip over, ejecting the four passengers onto the road.
Medic declared Deborah Bakashika, a rear seat passenger, deceased on the scene. Ashley Gilliam, a rear seat passenger, was declared deceased by hospital staff shortly after being transported.
The driver of the Malibu, Demarus Reid, received a non serious injury. The right front passenger, London Moss, has serious injuries. Perla Kapinga, the last rear seat passenger has life threatening injuries according to police.
In the 2002 Honda Odyssey, police say a 15, 14, and 7-year-old received minor injuries. Police say the driver is expected to be okay.
In the Ford Explorer, one person was injured but not seriously.
Police have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash.
