SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Thousands of Paula Deen supporters are uniting under a new campaign called Butter for Paula.

A website named for the campaign has instructions on how fans can express their support.

As part of the National Butter Wrappers for Paula Protest, fans can mail a clean, empty butter wrapper to companies who have dropped Deen and a letter of disappointment about the decision, according to the Butter for Paula website. The website lists the addresses for the companies that have severed ties with the celebrity chef.

The campaign also urges fans to boycott those companies who have dropped Deen.

The campaign's Facebook page called We Support Paula Deen has more than 600,000 followers. A post on the Facebook page has asked fans to "like" the post if they have already mailed in their butter wrappers. So far, there are more 3,400 likes in response to that post.
