The total number of registered voters in Arizona has risen by 2,302 to 3,227,819, according to Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett.
While the number of independent voters increased from 1,075,334 to 1,085,237, the state's major political parties experienced a decline.
Of the state's 3.2 million voters, 1,139,154 are Republicans and 972,626 are Democrats. Libertarians make up less than one percent of the state's total registration with 25,281, while 5,241 voters are currently registered as members of the Green Party, Bennett said.
The Americans Elect Party has enrolled 280 voters since joining the state's other recognized political parties in 2011.
"With important municipal elections like the city council races in Phoenix, it's important that people participate," Bennett said.
The latest voter registration figures compiled by county, congressional district and legislative district are available on the Secretary of State's website, www.azsos.gov/VoterRegCount or by calling 1-877-THE-VOTE.
