Report: Locust man arrested for Stanly B&E's

A man was arrested after two separate breaking and entering cases reported on the same day, according to the Stanly County Sheriff's Office.

On July 07, deputies were called to Helms Road to investigate a breaking and entering. A short time later they received a call about a second burglary on Austin Road.

Information obtained in both incident investigations led detectives to Justin Lee Morton, 30, of Locust, the report states.

After speaking with Morton, detectives were also able to close a larceny from 2012, deputies said.

Morton was charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, felony entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny, and misdemeanor damaging property to obtain metal.

He was arrested on July 19, and taken to the Stanly County Jail where he received a $5000 secured bond. His initial court appearance is in District Court in Albemarle NC on August 05.
