SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

A man who had already been convicted once before for having sex with an underage girl is now facing new charges involving a different alleged victim, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.

Anthony Powers, 53, of Needmore Road in Woodleaf was charged on Thursday on two counts of taking indecent liberties with children.

Investigators say Powers was convicted of molesting a girl in Florida in 1988.  Powers was not listed as a registered sex offender since that was before the establishment of the Sex Offender Registry.

The current charges involve a girl who was 12 years old at the time and are alleged to have happened in 2011.

Bond was set at $3,000.
