Patriots poised to get back to championship status

With the emergence of Butler and Mallard Creek, Independence has become the forgotten program in the area but that may not be the case this season as the Patriots should be a force in the race for a 4AA state title.

They do have a new head coach in former Patriots assistant coach Joe Evans so he knows the expectations.  8 starters return on both sides of the ball.

On defense, they have a great tandem in the secondary in CB Deon Washington and safety Adonis Alexander both of who are juniors.

On the offensive side, the line will be anchored by center Tony Adams who has verbally committed to NC State and he will block for RB Isaiah Robinson who rushed for 15 hundred yards and 16 TDs last year.

At WR, Jamick Davis will be a big target.

The Patriots are always known for a good QB and they have a youngster in junior Kelvin Hopkins who could follow in the line of great Indy signal callers.
