Flood Warning; Woman Hit By Stray Bullet

A FLOOD WARNING is now in effect for several local counties, including Ashe, Avery, Burke, Caldwell, McDowell, Mitchell and Watauga Counties.  Flash flood watches are also in effect for some areas.

The rain continues to dominate the headlines.  More rain is expected today as well as scattered thunderstorms...the threat of flooding is very high.  It's going to be humid and in the mid 80s in the Charlotte area...the mountains are looking at more rain as well.  In Caldwell County, Mortimer campground in the Pisgah National Forest has been evacuated because of high water in Wilson Creek.  Stay tuned for your First Alert Weather forecast!

A major traffic alert for you:  One of Charlotte's busiest intersections - cut in half this morning by a massive, 16 inch water main break.   Remount Road, between South Boulevard and South Tryon Street - is closed right now - and it could stay that way through rush hour.  We'll have continuous updates for you this morning.

Fourth of July celebrations were interrupted last night when a bullet fell from the sky and hit a woman standing in line to get into BAR Charlotte...a popular uptown nightclub.  Cam Man Ron Lee will be live with more details on what happened.

Here in Charlotte, folks were treated to a spectacular fireworks show...that was delayed a bit due to weather.  Folks in Morganton weren't so lucky...the fireworks show there has been postponed until Saturday because of heavy rain and soggy conditions at Catawba Meadows Park.

A fireworks show in California got out of hand...more than two dozen people were injured in Simi Valley when fireworks malfunctioned at a community July 4th celebration.  You'll see video of exactly what happened.

That terrible wildfire in Arizona is now 80 percent contained.

Supporters of former Islamist President Mohammed Morsi plan to rally in Egypt today.  Military officials say a peaceful protest will be allowed.
