Phoenix police have arrested a man they suspect of exposing himself to women joggers along the Central Avenue corridor in a series of events that might have started in 2012.
Michael Christopher Atkins, 25, was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant was served at his home, Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump said.
Atkins came under suspicion after police received reports of a man exposing himself on June 21 and June 25, and witnesses provided a vehicle description officers eventually linked to Atkins, Crump said.
Previous cases were reported in April, and detectives found two more incidences from November 2012 and January 2013 that were not reported, Crump said.
The victims were all women from 25 to 50 years in age, and the alleged exposures took place along a bridle path from 6500 to 8100 N. Central Ave.
Atkins was booked into jail on four counts of public sexual indecency, two counts of indecent exposure, assault and harassment.
