Lancaster police arrest man wanted in Tuesday night shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Lancaster man was arrested Tuesday night and charged with attempted murder.

Markevious Demond Samuel, 20, is charged with attempted murder and armed robbery, according to a news release from the Lancaster Police Department.

Samuel had locked himself inside a home on Steele Hill Road and refused to come out when law enforcement arrived.

They eventually stormed the home and found Samuel hiding in a closet.

Samuel was wanted in a Tuesday shooting at the intersection of Ferguson and Gay Streets. The victim was taken to Springs Memorial Hospital suffering from shotgun wounds to both legs.

He was later taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
