Deputies: Man leads officers on 50 mile chase into South Carolina

Deputies arrested a man early Sunday morning after he led them on a car chases through Charlotte and into South Carolina.

Naconda Demario McQueen-Robinson, 34, is charged with failure to stop for law enforcement, according to the report from the York County Sheriff's Office.

McQueen-Robinson was driving a stolen black 2004 Cadillac Escalade, according to the report.

Deputies in York County were alerted that Charlotee-Mecklenburg police officers were persuing the stolen SUV down Interstate 77 to the state line.

York County deputies picked up the case at the Carowinds Boulevard interchage at 1:37 a.m.

McQueen-Robinson hit a stop stick deployed by deputies near Gold Hill Road.

His speeds ranged from 55 to 75 miles per hour, according to the report.

The right front tire eventaully came off due to the stop stick but McQueen-Robinson continued down I-77 doing around 50 mph.

He eventually came to a stop on the shoulder of the interstate in Fairfield County.

At first, McQueen-Robinson got out of the passenger side and then got back into the vehicle, according to the report.

Deputies say he got out of the driver's side eventually and appeared to be confused and asking for help.

He finally crawled back to a patrol car where he was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
