North Carolina Department of Transportation posted on twitter that repairs from storm damage may take a few weeks. The NCDOT news release stated that Friday night's storms have damaged a section of pavement on Gilead Road in North Mecklenburg County. The detour is to take Gilead road to McCoy road, to Hambright road, to Beatties Ford Road, then back onto Bud Henderson Road. NCDOT says Maintenance crews are assessing the damage and deciding which repairs to make. The crews estimate that the area of damaged road is 10-15 feet long, and has sunken 2-3 feet.
