Officials: Pineville Police to start answering 911 calls in Mint Hill

MINT HILL, NC (WBTV) -

Officials in Mint Hill say they are contracting all calls for police that come into 911 to a neighboring police department.

According to Mint Hill Police, calls that come in to 911 starting on July 1st will be answered by the Pineville Police Department.

This service will include any calls for police by the general public, residential and business.

While the calls will be answered by the Pineville Police Department, officials say Mint Hill officers will still be dispatched to the scene.

Mecklenburg County officials say any calls that come in for the Fire Department or Medic will be forwarded to the correct center for emergency dispatch.
