Report: Mary Kay consultant took nearly $5,000 from customer

A woman was arrested in Iredell County after using another woman's debit card, given to her for beauty supplies, for personal use, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.

On April 18, the Sheriff's Office received a report of the financial transaction card fraud.  The case was assigned to detectives with the Economic Crime Unit to be investigated.

The victim told detectives that she had found $4,975.58 missing from her bank account and that Ramona Sitler, 44, of Mooresville, had taken it, officials said.

The victim said she had given her debit card number to Sitler, who is an independent Mary Kay Consultant, to order Mary Kay products.

After further investigation, it was found that Sitler had used the victims debit card number to make several fraudulent purchases from Propay, a company similar to that of Paypal, officials said.

Based on the information obtained from Propay, detectives charged Sitler with financial transaction card fraud.  She was arrested on June 25 and given a $1,500 secured bond and a future court date.
