7 Arrested in year-long drug investigation, officials say

YORK COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

Seven people have been arrested on 33 charges after a year-long investigation involving several agencies in and around York County, according to officials.

On June 20, Officers from the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit and Agents from the FBI concluded a one year investigation, targeting several high profile drug dealers in the York County, Lancaster County and Chester County areas.

The investigation led to purchasing large quantities of crack from drug dealers, dealing and transporting drugs to the Rock Hill area.

During the investigation, 38 ounces of crack, with an estimated street value of $106,400, were seized. Officers also seized $7,100.00 in currency, 2 vehicles and 2 firearms.

The officers and agents received assistance from the Rock Hill Street Crimes Unit and the ATF rounding up the suspects Thursday and Friday on multiple charges ranging from trafficking crack to weapon violations. 

The seven arrested and their charges are:

  • Elder Prescott Leach, 49 – 4 counts of Trafficking Crack 3rd
  • Tyress Antonio Littlejohn, 32 – 2 counts Trafficking Crack, 2 counts Dist. Crack Proximity of Park
  • Elijah Dexter Hill, 36 – Trafficking Crack, Dist. Crack Proximity of Park
  • Marcus Phillips, 29 – 3 counts Trafficking Crack 3rd
  • Dwayne Hemphill, 23 – 2 counts Trafficking Crack, 2 counts Dist. Crack Proximity Park, Manufacture Crack, and Poss. Stolen Gun
  • Breon Artemous Hemphill, 27 – 2 counts Conspiracy to Traffick Crack 3rd, 2 counts Dist. Crack Proximity Park
  • Travyon Deontra Heath, 31 – 2 counts Trafficking Crack 2nd, Trafficking Crack 3rd, 2 counts Dist. Crack Proximity Park, 3 counts Unlawful Carry of Pistol, and 2 counts Poss. Weapon During Violent Crime
