The shooter who fired on four victims at the Kellum Law Firm and Walmart in Greenville is in custody, according to CBS station WNCT-9.
Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden made the announcement around 1:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Police fired on the shooter after he turned his weapon on them near Hooker Road. That's near the side entrance of the retail store. Aden said that the shooter's condition is unknown.
The shooter is reportedly in surgery at Vidant Medical Center.
A witness that shared pictures with WNCT of GPD officers moving in to get the suspect medical attention. The witness told WNCT police kept telling him to stay down and put his hands up. The witness added the suspect was still moving around & police were unable to get to him until they slowly moved in with the SUV and took him into custody.
Aden said both businesses are now crime scenes. He added that all of the victims were shot near the Kellum Law Firm and Greenville Walmart on Greenville Blvd.
It all started just before noon at the Kellum Law Firm.
