Panthers' high school 7 on 7 tournament

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) Friday at the Panthers practice fields, the team held their annual 7 on 7 passing tournament. 12 high school teams were in the event including local teams like York.

2009 champ Independence was back with new head coach Joe Evans. The Patriots will be a young team this season, but showed well today.

A team to watch this season will be Jeff Caldwell's West Meck Hawks led by QB Jaylen McClendon who has verbally committed to NC State.

Defending 7 on 7 champ Davidson Day led by Florida commit Will Grier would make it to the semifinals before losing.

Mallard Creek would make the finals behind QB Emiere Scaife who verbally committed to Marshall Monday.

The Creek in their new white helmets would fall to Dorman out of South Carolina in the finals as the Cavaliers will now head to Cleveland, Ohio for the national tournament.
