"Speak Out" is an expression of opinion from the Editorial Board of WBTV, and is presented by General Manager, Nick Simonette.
This month marks five years since our Speak Out Editorials began airing on WBTV.
During that time, we've addressed a wide variety of issues that impact our community.
Frequent topics have included the education of our children…
Holding leaders accountable for the promises they make…
Ways to keep our neighborhoods safe…
And how we can provide opportunities for those who are willing to work hard for success.
Our editorial board is made up of a diverse cross-section of employees from all departments.
We meet each week to discuss ideas, and together decide the topics on which we wish to express our opinion.
From what's wrong...to what's right. And what we think can and should be done.
Our Speak Out Editorials run each Wednesday and Saturday on WBTV and can also be found on wbtv dot com.
WBTV was the first television station in the Carolinas.
Since 1949, we've been On Your Side as an active member of this community.
That's why we want to do everything we can to protect it, to make it better and to help find solutions to the challenges we face.
And we want you to Speak Out as well. Whether you agree with us or not...let us know your thoughts, your concerns and your suggestions.
We're listening, and your voice will be heard.
Tell us what YOU think. SpeakOut@wbtv.com.
