Charges filed in motorcycle crash that killed Mount Holly woman

CRAMERTON, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Cramerton filed charges in Tuesday's motorcycle crash that killed a Mount Holly woman.

Officers responded just before 1 p.m. to the accident, which happened on Wilkinson Boulevard just east of Market Street.

Michelle Lee Day, 43, of Mount Holly, was killed when the motorcycle that she was driving was struck by a pickup truck driven by William Vance Pool, 75, of Gastonia.

Police said Day was traveling eastbound on Wilkinson Boulevard when she and Pool collided as Pool was making a left turn into the Burger King.

Police have charged Pool with an unsafe movement and misdemeanor death by vehicle.

    A person died Monday afternoon from injuries sustained in a car crash April 11 in east Charlotte. Officials say the crash happened just before 9 a.m. in the 1500 block of Shamrock Drive near Farley Street. An investigation revealed a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Jimmy Hamilton, was traveling on Shamrock Drive and ran off the roadway to the right at Farley Street.
