Mysterious "Good Samaritan" pulls three from burning cars, disappears

An unknown Good Samaritan is being credited for saving the lives of three people after pulling them from burning cars on Interstate 85 Monday night.

According to fire officials and investigators on the scene, the accident happened near mile marker 81 at Bringle Ferry Road just before 9:00 pm.

A white Chevrolet minivan stopped in the southbound lane of I-85 for an unknown reason, and was struck by a Nissan SUV. The gas tank on the Chevrolet ruptured and caught fire, and the flames spread to the Nissan.

Another driver stopped and helped to pull a woman and twelve-year-old child from the minivan, as well as the driver of the SUV.
