Raymond Lorenzo Hill, 61, was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center on June 7th, according to the report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police say Hill was standing in the median of the 900 block of N. Tryon Street at the Church Street Connector at 9:31 a.m. on May 29th.

Clifton Hodges, 68, was driving a tractor trailer for USF Hauling up N. Tryon Street when police say Hill stepped off the curb and was hit by the side of the truck.

The impact made Hill fall to the curb.

Medic transported Hill to the hospital with serious life threatening injuries.

Police say speed and alcohol are not factors in the crash.

No charges have been filed against the driver in this case.

The investigation is ongoing.
