Flooding concerns for the Carolinas tonight

With some areas already receiving over four inches of rain and more on the way, localized flooding will be a concern through the overnight hours tonight.

The same system that brought tornadoes to Oklahoma and Missouri earlier this week is now bringing heavy rain, dangerous cloud to ground lightning and even small hail to parts of the WBTV viewing area.

As of 9:00 Sunday night, no watches or warnings were in effect, but residents should be cautious if plans include being on the roadways. Flooding at night is especially dangerous, and if you're at all unsure about road conditions ahead of you, turn around and find another route to your destination.

The rain should move out late Monday, but isolated totals of another 2-3 inches of rain will be possible before the system heads East.
