Police investigating after man shot dead in East Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened on the 6000 block of Albemarle Road on Saturday, May 25, 2013 around 10:00 p.m.

Police said when they arrived on scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives said the victim and a suspect were dropped off at Albemarle Road in a dark (possibly black) vehicle. After the vehicle left, the victim and the suspect got into an altercation. The suspect then shot the victim and fled on foot.
