A small plane has crashed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
The plane, a Cessna 210, crashed at the end of Runway 36 when, officials said, it came in short of the runway just before 2 p.m. Friday. It was heading to Charlotte from South Carolina Metropolitan Airport in Columbia.
WBTV's Sky 3 was over the scene where emergency crews could be seen taping off the area around the plane.
Medic confirmed that they treated two patients with minor injuries. Both were taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
West Boulevard was closed between Airport Drive and Yorkmont Road but has since been reopened as the plane is being removed from the crash site.
FAA records show the plane was enroute to Charlotte from Merrutt Island, Florida.
