CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

An Ohio man was arrested at a Charlotte McDonalds after police say he called them and asked to turn himself in for the shooting death of a teenager.

According to police in Ohio, 20-year-old Antonio Dante-Terma Robles contacted the Lorain Police Department on Wednesday morning.  He told officers that he wanted to turn himself in for the shooting death of 17-year-old DeAndre McDowell.

Robles reportedly told police that he was in Charlotte and would meet them at a McDonald's along the 2500 block of Beatties Ford Road.

Officers in Charlotte were notified and arrested Robles.

He was booked in the Mecklenburg County Jail at 1:52 p.m.  He is being held as a fugitive from another state and is slated to appear in court on Thursday afternoon.

He is awaiting extradition back to Ohio, where he is wanted for reckless homicide.

Police say McDowell died as a result of a single gunshot wound to the head on Friday. After an investigation, police issued a warrant for Robles who fled the area.
