Fire forces families from Chandler duplex

CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -

Two families were forced from their homes Wednesday morning after a fire at a duplex in Chandler.

Flames sparked around 3:30 a.m. near Pecos Road and Arizona Avenue.

A Chandler Fire Department spokesman said a 12-year-old inside one of the units called 911 and everyone was able to make it out safely.

One of the two families will be able to return home while the other will need to find a new place to stay.

The cause was still unknown.

No other information was immediately available.
