Police with the Statesville Police Department have arrested a man they say cut three women with a box cutter, according to a report from SPD.
On Monday, just after 8:30 p.m., Statesville police officers responded to a report of three women being stabbed at a home in the 1000 block of Knox Avenue.
Once at the home, officers were told by the three female victims that they had been assaulted by Tywan Summers, 24, of Statesville.
The victims said that Summers had walked up to them while they were talking outside and began to harass them. He was told to leave, but came back with a box cutter a short time later, police said.
Summers walked back over to where they were standing and grabbed one of the females by the head and cut her. The other two then attempted to help the victim, and were also cut during the struggle, the report states.
The three victims were able to get away from Summers, who reportedly continued to make threats before leaving the scene.
Police say the victims received minor injuries, and are recovering at home.
Officers later located Summers at his home on Park Drive, and he was taken into custody without incident.
He was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, and second degree trespassing.
He was taken to the Iredell County Detention center on a $50,000 secured bond.
