(FOX19) -

It's a place Jessica Brown holds close to her heart.  Jamaica is where Jessica Brown's father comes from and her cousin represents.

Jessica's cousin, Chantal Zaky, was crowned Miss Jamaica in 2012.  Zaky's is very proud of her hometown.

"It's my morals and my tradition," said Zaky. "That's what Jamaica mean's to me. It's such a serene place, and  I think I'm so lucky that its my roots and a place to call home."

There's more to Jamaica that what you see on television. It's a lifestyle that is easy-going with great people. Jamaica is also home to some of the best food in the world.

Cincinnatians can get an authentic taste of Jamaica in their own back yard.

Painted in bright Jamaican colors, Island Frydays in Clifton is hard to miss. Leo Morgan, owner and chef at Island Frydays, is a Jamaican native.

Leo and his staff make everything fresh to order for guests. From jerk, curry and brown stew, Island Frydays is a hidden gem in the Tri-state.

"[I] started at UC and when I came here for football I realized there was none of my traditional food," explains Leo. "People are giving us a chance."
