OVERNIGHT: Mecklenburg County manager fired

A stunning development from the chambers of the Mecklenburg County Commission. Last night, County Manager Harry Jones was abruptly fired by the Board. We have details on how it all went down and who will carry the torch in the interim.

Mark Sanford redeemed...politically. He won his special election last night, defeating democratic Elizabeth Colbert-Busch. It was a close race leading up to the polls opening. We'll have the election results will all the precincts reporting. Plus you'll hear what both candidates said about the race once the numbers were in.

Also, flooding problems continue to burden many residents in Mecklenburg County and surrounding counties. We talk with some of them still trying to salvage items from their flooded homes.
