Union Co. man killed in Lancaster Co. vehicle crash

LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) -

Investigators in Lancaster County have identified a man killed in a vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported around 6 a.m. at Camp Creek and John Truesdale Road, according to a news release from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.

Upon arrival deputies located a pick-up truck in the middle of the road and a small car off the side of the road.  The driver of the car, Jeffrey Whitener, 26 of Monroe, had been ejected from the vehicle and was deceased. 

The driver of the truck, Charles Small, 24 of Lancaster, was transported to the hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries. 

The Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are working together to determine the cause of the collision.
