It is estimated that 1,000 gallons of untreated sewage was spilled.

The untreated sewage flowed into a cove in the 8000 block of Malibu Pointe Lane, which runs into Lake Norman in the Catawba River Basin.

The flow has been stopped and testing of the discharge site has commenced.
