Two Myers Park apartments damaged by tree, residents evacuated

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Some people in a Myers Park apartment complex are living elsewhere right now, after their units were damaged by a tree during Monday morning's rainfall.

Charlotte firefighters say a huge oak tree hit fell onto the roof of two units at 2128 Selwyn Avenue around 1am. Firefighters blame the incident on the loose soil caused by the inch-plus rainfall in the area overnight. Both units also lost power.

The two other units in the small complex were not damaged. No one was hurt.
