WEATHER ALERT: Continuing rain blamed for tree falling into Charlotte apartments

Hello on this rainy Monday, May 6. This is Christine Nelson. I'm all dried off after a rainy commute into work. You're going to be experiencing the same thing this morning. Here is a look at the top stories you need to watch for when you turn on WBTV News This Morning. If you like to watch the live stream on the web the link is active from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

RAIN WILL CONTINUE:

Expect on and off rain showers today. We got enough of a soaking yesterday a tree came crashing down on a set of apartments in the Myers Park area. WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee says some families will have to stay elsewhere until the cleanup is complete. He has video from the scene so you can see what crews were up against.

WBTV's Al Conklin is the most experienced meteorologist in the morning to get you caught up on how much rainfall we will see today and where. He put the final touches on the forecast and will continue to update it as another system is producing rainfall right now in our area. He'll have live, weather updates every 10 minutes to get you out the door this morning.

What was supposed to be a celebration starting a new life together, a bride and her four bridesmaids were killed when their limo caught fire. The limo could be seen in flames on the highway. We'll try to piece together how this happened.

Also, do you workout alone? WBTV's Astrid Martinez will tell you the one thing you should change about your workout that will get you quicker results! Watch for her full report at 6:45.

We have good news and bad news for you re: the (HUGE) Powerball jackpot.

See you on the air!

Christine
