Singing sensations or bathroom belters should polish the pipes for a chance to sing live at an upcoming NASCAR event.
The Speedway Superstar Tour kicked off today at Charlotte Motor Speedway, just days in advance of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. Hopefuls lined up outside a mobile studio to record their best versions of the national anthem or "God Bless America". The studio will travel throughout the Carolinas over the next two weeks for auditions.
One woman auditioning today took a break from her job at Hendrick Motors on the advice of her boss. "My manager was like, 'yeah I approve it, you should go, you should go!" said Jasmine Hayes.
Five winners will be chosen to sing at 5 different NASCAR events during pre-race festivities. Charlotte Motor Speedway President and General Manager Marcus Smith said, "We have thousands of talented race fans and want to get them involved in being part of the 10 Greatest Days in Racing."
